Login via Liveness (live selfie) as 2FA alternative

Have more questions? Submit a request

To make logging in more secure and convenient, we offer the option to log in using a live selfie instead of entering a traditional two-factor authentication (2FA) code.

This option is available only if you provided a live selfie during registration.

Please make sure you are using the latest version of the app, or update to it if necessary.

How it works

  1. Login as usual
Begin by entering your username and password on the login page.
  2. Choose your authentication method
If you have 2FA enabled on your account, you’ll be given two options:
    • Enter your 2FA code as usual, or
    • Verify your identity using a live selfie (Liveness)

3. Complete the facial recognition check
If you choose the Liveness option, you’ll be prompted to complete a quick facial recognition check using your device's camera. You can proceed only if you provided a live selfie when registering.

  • If the selfie is successful, you’ll be logged in immediately – no need to enter a 2FA code.
  • If the selfie is incomplete, the verification will not go through, and you’ll need to start the process again.
  • If the selfie fails, you’ll see a message prompting you to contact our support team for help.

Attempt limits

To protect your account, you’re allowed up to five attempts to log in using the live selfie method within a 24-hour period.
If this limit is reached, no further selfie attempts will be accepted, and you’ll be directed to contact support for help.

Important: if you didn’t provide a live selfie during registration and are having trouble entering your 2FA code, please contact our support team at support@capital.com.
